Policies

Staff Ratio

The teachers at New World Montessori are qualified to the highest level of NVQ 3, 4 and are Montessori trained.

We ensure the following ratio of teachers:

  • 2 to 3 year olds: one teacher to every four children.
  • 3 to 5 year olds: one teacher to every eight children.

As part of the Government Grant Funding Scheme, we are eligible to apply for funding for all 3 and 4 year olds who attend New World Montessori Nursery Schools.

Records

Detailed records will be kept of each child to enable the curriculum to be adapted to his/her specific requirements.

Should you have any queries or concerns about your child, this will be discussed during parent/teacher meetings with a written report given at the end of each term.

Refreshments

Children help themselves to a variety of fruit and vegetable laid out at the snack table throughout the day. They can even make their own jam and butter sandwiches. This will encourage their independence at an early age. We do not offer juice, as we like to encourage children to drink milk.

Collection of Children

The Nursery must be informed if anyone other than a known person will be collecting your child. Children will NOT be released to an unknown person.

Discipline

All matters of unacceptable behaviour will be dealt with kindly but firmly, in keeping with the Montessori philosophy of developing self-discipline and self-esteem. Should the behaviour persist, we will discuss matters with the child's parents/guardians as appropriate. Positive behaviour will be consistently encouraged.

Uniform

The uniform at New World Montessori is a simple sweatshirt and polo shirt bearing the Nursery's logo. These may be purchased directly from Juniper on Pitshanger Lane, Ealing .

Fees

All fees are due on or within two weeks of each term. No deduction of fees can be made for absence due to illness or holidays taken during the school term. For a full list of fees please contact the Principal.
